BE FASHIONABLY WARM THIS WINTER WITH THESE GREAT TRENDS
The winter season has finally arrived and the Autumn/Winter 2012–2013 fashion shows delivered the newest and COOLEST trends. So if you’re fashion-conscious but sadly missed the fashion shows, or you feel like your wardrobe needs a bit of updating accordingly, here are some of the trends for this season…
The Long Coats
These are the biggest trend in the jackets category for 2012 winter. Each fashion show all over the fashion world showcased the trend differently but with the same level of glamour, from luxurious wool fabrics to fuzzy warm faux fur.
Hats
As illustrated by most fashion shows, the hat has undoubtedly made a comeback this winter and we love it. You can pair it up with literally anything.

The Waist
This season, designers brought a bit of edginess by greatly emphasising the waist with the use of high waist belts and pencil skirts. Dresses became more form-fitting so that means this winter is all about being edgy and sexy, but without being trashy.
PRINTS
Prints are a huge trend this season. From, our very own African inspired prints, and florals to geometric and horizontal, designers all over were crazy about them. Prints are a great way to brighten or bring out any outfit. A bit of caution must be observed however because too much print can get you in trouble with the fashion police.
SHOES!!!
The 2012 winter’s trendy shoes are definitely knee high boots, chunky heels and also the masculine like shoes i.e. the brogues. Rihanna’s personal style of ankle socks worn with heels also seems to be a great hit. Knee high boots are the ultimate must have. Whilst elongating your legs, they also keep you really warm. You can wear them over skinnies, with miniskirts or…ANYTHING (N.B NEVER wear them with long skirts or a dress, that is a fashion disaster). AHH…The brogues. These are really cool and very comfy. Brogues work great with skinnies, cropped pants or miniskirts.
So those are some of the wonderful trends the fashion world brought to us. With these trends, you are definitely guaranteed to be fashionably warm with this winter. Remember to wear these trends in a way that will reflect your own unique and personal style, because you are perfect the way you are, you are a True African Woman.
